Twitter ban accounts tweeting targeted abuse and harrassment
Twitter have taken a welcome step to protect their users from targeted abuse and harrassment by banning users that tweet such content. Violent threats, doxxing, revenge porn and other targeted abuse or harrassment is prohibited. Factors that will determine whether content is targeted include:
if a primary purpose of the reported account is to send abusive messages to others;
if the reported behavior is one-sided or includes threats;
if the reported user is inciting others to harass another user; and
if the reported user is sending harassing messages to a user from multiple accounts.
The policy states that offensive content in itself will not result in a ban.
